A renewed interest in pursuing a Happiness Project arose in me recently as I started blogging again. My aim is to create a daily win for myself. And, at the same time, provide value to those who might also benefit from starting the day in a positive vibe through quotes, affirmations, and words of wisdom about happiness.
Daily Happiness Project, Attempt #1
I did a sort-of Happiness Project back in 2008 during a period of big changes in both work and family life. It was definitely not as organized and planned as that undertaken by Gretchen Rubin around the same time, which turned into a best-selling book The Happiness Project. Nonetheless, it was a defining period of introspection that helped clarified our direction away from the career and life we initially aspired to have.
Part of that said period of study was blogging about a variety of topics. And one of the blogs is a daily posting of Happy Quotes and Happy Images. Unfortunately, it only lasted for 19 days.
Daily Happiness Project, Attempt #2
For this second attempt, the big goal is to post five days a week (Monday to Friday) for one year. It is in a format of a daily reminder posted in a personal bulletin board. My confidence that this is doable stems from the fact that I have accumulated materials (happiness quotes, affirmations, and words of wisdom) over the years. Furthermore, I have enough sunrise images during our 25th wedding anniversary project, some of which were posted on Instagram.
In spite of many things going on in our family and work life, I dare embark on this Happiness Project publicly to lay an additional groundwork for growth each day. Moreover, I recognize the value of small consistent acts that provide solid footing to stretch from as I work towards my audacious goals.
Let me know if you found my posts beneficial to you in any way. I appreciate any feedback from you.
